A good-looking young man was standing at the supermarket checkout next to me. I stared at him.
"Ada kad?" asked the cashier, bemused.
The guy took a look at me and whistled.
I ignored.
He leaned against the railing and invited me to a restaurant. He slicked his hair back with one hand and grinned at me. So suave.
I declined.
He begged and made a puppy face.
I still declined.
Meanwhile the cashier was more amused. She didn't even bother to hide her smile.
I knew I couldn't escape. So I agreed.
He jumped with joy.
The cashier snickered.
He and I left together.
Little did she know that he was actually my ex-student. The only reason why I followed him to the restaurant was because he works there and he wanted to keep his promise he had made a long time ago

to give me a discount every time I buy his chicken! Just one of the perks of being a teacher!
Other privileges:
a) Discount at cinema snack bar
b) Discount every time I buy rojak at Delima
c) Extra speedy bell hop service at a hotel
d) Cut & cleaned fresh chicken at The Mall
So next time when a much younger guy goes "Phewitt!" and offers me something, don't get too excited.
It's probably just chicken :)
